Employment Law ensures that you as the client receive a fair dismissal and the severance pay to meet this.
Settlement Agreements
What is a Settlement Agreement?
A Settlement Agreement is an agreement between yourself and your employer where they offer to end your current employment on terms that are agreed. The agreement frees both parties from the terms of the employment contract and generally the employee will receive a payment in return for the employer being released from any claim by the employee relating to their employment
What do I need to do?
As the terms of the Settlement Agreement disclaim the employees statutory right not to be unfairly dismissed, the employee is required to take independent legal advice from a solicitor or other suitably qualified person. You and your solicitor will review the agreement together and terms will be explained to you.
Once you are satisfied the agreement will be signed and sent to your employer.
